June 20 - 22: Marvellous Spatuletail was naturally given priority during our stay at Pomacochas. Splendid views of males and females on the hillsides above Pomacochas and near the new ECOAN information centre. Using Pomacochas as our base we birded various sites near the pass at Abra Patricia (2100m) down to Afluente (1500m) and Aguas Verdes (1100m). The new ECOAN lodge at the pass is now open and thanks to the manager David Geuvaras for the fine hospitality there during heavy rain at the pass. We'll be using the ECOAN lodge for next year's North Peru in August 2009.
