19 June: Early departure for the semi-arid scrub and forest near Tamborapa. Field breakfast before commencing our search for endemic birds. Early afternoon departure for Pomacochas (2300m) and late afternoon birding at the lake near the hotel. Today's birds included White-cheeked Pintail, Plumbeous Rail, Andean Lapwing, Blue Ground-Dove, Scarlet-fronted Parakeet, Grey-chinned Hermit, Spot-throated Hummingbird, White-bellied Hummingbird, Maranon Spinetail, Necklaced Spinetail (race chinchipensis), Northern Slaty-Antshrike (race leucogaster), Maranon Crescentchest, Pacific Elaenia, Maranon Thrush, Speckle-breasted Wren, Black-capped Sparrow (race nigriceps) and Buff-bellied Tanager.
